AIA Insurance is one of the largest providers of life and health insurance products in the Asia-Pacific region. The AIA brand promise aims to help as many people as possible to live healthier, longer, better lives by shifting the focus away from from being a payer of claims to helping New Zealanders improve their health and wellbeing.
Through 2024 AIA NZ undertook a total refurbishment of their North Shore office in Auckland. A key design component of the technology refresh was a Wi-Fi first approach to enable ease of working across the three floors of the open plan office.
Network Edge was selected by AIA to deliver the switching and Wi-Fi transformation. The brief required high performance and seamless roaming for the user devices with segregation for the audio visual and business services equipment. Integration with AIA global partners and conformance with AIA Group was a must.
The approach was consultative, and Network Edge became an integral part of the project delivery team.

Switching Infrastructure
- CiscoCatalyst 9000 series UPoE switches.
Enterprise Wi-Fi
- CiscoWi-Fi 6 access points distributed to support Wi-Fi First access for 500+ users.
Ongoing Support & Optimisation
- Proactive monitoring and incident response.
- Continuous automated tuning via Cisco’s AI RRM.
